When I don't want
to cut any ingredients and keep in mind what everone would enjoy, this is a
perfect recipe , I don't have to stand near the gas all the time or worry that
it won't taste good re - heated.
Cook it and relax
until dinner time. Serve with either a potato mash and stir fried veggies or
just steamed veggies or plain Pulao. Try it once and you will make it a part of
your menu at least once a week as it's healthy as it's not deep fried and you can
make it with olive oil to make it really healthy . The addition of
yoghurt in the marinade makes it juicy and moist.

Style Chicken Fry
Ingredients:
Chicken
- 1 kg ( I used pre – cut pieces)
Marinade:
Ginger Garlic paste – 1 heaped tbsp.
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Cumin powder – ½ tsp.
Lemon juice – 1 whole lime
Fenugreek powder – a pinch ( optional)
Garam masala or mixed spices powder – ½ tsp.
Yoghurt – 2 tbsp.’s
Salt to taste
Method:
- Take the chicken in a bowl. Put all the marinade ingredients together and mix them well. Massage into the chicken pieces well. Make gashes so that the marinade can seep through.
- If you have time, keep it in the fridge to marinate for an hour or so.
- Next take a heavy bottom flat frying pan. Heavy bottom helps to keep the burnt look. Put just about a tbsp.. of oil. Let the pan get really hot and put the chicken pieces in. After about a minute, lower the heat to medium. Fry for 7 minutes on each side.
- It’s done!
Few Points:
- This style does not require any egg or flour as it won’t get the desired look.
- If your chicken legs are bigger, cover for about two minutes and finish uncovered.
