Ingredients:
- 1 cup of all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup of walnuts
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup dates
- 1 cup of butter
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
Method:
- Chop the dates finely. Pour half a cup of hot water into a bowl with baking soda and dates. Keep it aside to soften.
- In a bowl, add the walnuts into the flour.
- Beat the butter and sugar together until smooth and creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla essence and beat. Next add the soaked dates.
- Lastly add the flour with walnuts, cocoa powder, and baking powder and gently stir with a spoon.
- Bake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius in an oven that was pre-heated for 10 minutes.
